Moving the Margins: Fiction and Inclusion MOOC-Pack

Overview

This MOOC-Pack provides the core content of our MOOC Moving the Margins: Fiction and Inclusion. You can use this MOOC-Pack on your own, or you can use it to lead a writing class or a study group.

Start by clicking on Session 1  in the Moving the Margins Page Menu at the left. You will find the session 1 readings, a discussion question example, a craft talk video and a podcast, both with transcripts, and a writing assignment example.

If you have any trouble navigating this MOOC-Pack, visit our HOW TO USE page for instructions on using this website. If you need to contact us with any questions or concerns, please visit the CONTACT | HELP | FEEDBACK page.

You as participants will read and listen to writers (many of them former IWP Fall Residents) speaking about and writing about voice, character, setting, style, language, and about "moving the margins" of the known and the expected. And as writers you will work with balancing vivid imagination with craft, towards an inclusiveness that allows for different kinds of thinking and different kinds of writing.

This MOOC-Pack has an overview section and six learning sessions. You can access each session by clicking the appropriate link on the navigation menu to the left. You can begin with the overview section and continue in order through sessions 1-6.
